Vicki Behm spent the first 20 years of her working life in suits and heels in the business world as a marketing consultant for architects, construction companies and developers. She was the executive director of the Frank Lloyd Wright Home and Studio Foundation and a director for the Main Street Project for the National Trust for Historic Preservation. Even while in the corporate world, Vicki was always drawing and still is today. She has amassed about 150 sketchbooks/artbooks on Mexico, Italy, Africa, Scotland, food, portraits, her health. With her husband’s, Glenn, support and encouragement, she took painting classes at the Art Institute of Chicago and started making large geometric oil and encaustic paintings based on American quilts in her small dining room.
