One Breath Rising: Julia Ogilvie

Julia Ogilvie is a poet, actor, playwright and comedian from Hawaii who trained at Juilliard as well as the Maggie Flanagan Studio. She has performed sketch comedy on Maude Night at The Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre, has performed poetry, comedy, and music at many venues around New York City, and an excerpt from her poem, "Frozen Wagner" is quoted in The New Yorker. Theater work includes: That Beautiful Laugh at La MaMa; A Midsummer Night’s Dream at the Shakespeare Theater Co. in D.C and the Macau Arts Festival in China, The Mousetrap at the Dorset Theatre Festival. In Los Angeles, she was co-creator and performer in the comedy duo The Manifesto of Hiatus (The Comedy Store, Flappers, Improv Olympics West). She wrote and performed her solo show Freckle and Burn directed by Vivienne Benesch at the Steinberg Studio, and co-wrote, directed, and performed Our Names In Masking Tape at Juilliard.
